So you want to go to the fireworks in Wilder, but hate traffic?

No problem. Green Mountain Railroad is running trains from the White River Junction station in WRJ up to the fireworks site in Wilder at 6, 7, and 8pm. Tickets are just $6 and it sure beats fighting the traffic on both sides of the river. Return trip is at 10:15. You can still get tickets at the station in WRJ or on the train tomorrow evening.

We’re going because it looks like wholesome fun and because children inexplicably love trains. You should go so you don’t have to drive. I hear there’s a number of bars and restaurants in downtown WRJ that could serve as an excellent launching and receiving point for patriotic merriment.
