Caring for Mom and Dad: A free community education event
Posted by Mark in UncategorizedSome of us are getting to the age where we may be providing some level of care for our parents as well as our own families. It is a lot of work and stress to be in that position and the world of health care can be confusing.
The VNA & Hospice of VT and NH (where I work) is putting on a free community education event called Caring for Mom and Dad. Dr. Dennis McCullough is giving this lecture based on his upcoming book titled My Mother, Your Mother that will be released in February of 2008. Following his lecture there will be a discussion panel made up of VNA & Hospice social workers and clinicians. This is a good opportunity to learn more about caring for family members and to talk to medical professionals about questions you may have.
We will be holding this event four times this month (click on the poster to see the full size version) with the first one on Tuesday October 16th at the Upper Valley Senior Center in Lebanon, NH. The event starts at 5:30pm with refreshments and registration. The lecture and panel discussion goes from 6 to 8pm.
See the event flyer for dates and locations for the events in Woodstock, VT, Springfield, VT and Brattleboro, VT. The VNA & Hospice is able to offer this program thanks to a grant from the Upper Valley United Way and a generous donation from Hypertherm.
