Carmen, Courtney, and JohnFor those of you not in the know, Tuesday, April 29th will see the 30th Annual Festival of New Musics taking place.  Starting at 7pm, the performances will be held in Spaulding Auditorium in the Hopkins Center for Performing Arts and the best part about it, is that it’s FREE!  Well, that’s not the only best part.  There’s going to be a whole slew of individual performances, three of which are going to be by the members of ElectroCab (pictured*).  This may be the last time you will all get to see Carmen, Courtney, and John perform, as they are graduating and moving on to bigger & better things.  So if you’re into experimental musical stylings, you should definitely pop in and check them out, along with all of the other great performances.

*In the interest of full disclosure, only two of the three pictured have played Big Buck Hunter Pro with me at the IQ.

Runway ActionThanks to all of you who came out to support Revolution, the Tip Top and most importantly, us, the uvScene.  We all are so appreciative of Kim’s generous offer to help raise money for us and to the Tip Top Cafe for hosting the event.  It was a hectic, but fun filled night.  I personally had no idea how much work goes on behind the scenes to make this happen, and quite frankly, I found it a little addicting.  I’m glad that Mary Claire didn’t make too much fun of me for not knowing anything about women’s clothes!  Hopefully Kim will let me help out next time. I did my best to capture images of the event, but my camera was a little lacking, so I’ll try to get everything I have up in the next couple of days.  Kim indicated that there were about 185 people who came through the door, again, thank you all!  For those of you who haven’t attended this before, next time it you need to come!  Things like this don’t happen in the Upper Valley that often and you really need to take advantage of these opportunties when they present themselves.

Speed Dating & DancingOk, so I don’t have a significant other at the moment, so what am I supposed to do on Valentine’s?  Mope around the house, feeling sorry for myself, drowning my sorrows in a bottle of cheap wine and crying myself to sleep?  Nope! I’m going to venture out of the house to check out a speed dating event tomorrow night (February 14th) at the India Queen in Hanover.  I don’t know about you, but I’ve never experienced something like this and I really can’t come up with a good excuse to not go.  Even if I don’t get a future date out of it, it’s something else that I can say I’ve tried and it’s only going to be $5.  :) In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that I’m friends with Bhav and the person organizing the event, but it is better than sitting at home alone.
